Members who abuse the forum by constantly thanking a member for an attachment which another member uploaded but they did not personally download is considered spam.
Do not thank a member for sharing an attachment if you have not downloaded it.
If you like the item and will later download it please put it in your favorites.
Members who thank members without downloading will have these replies deleted.
We have advised members on many occasions over the last several years that replying to a thread with an attachment when you did not download that attachment can be deemed excessive replies or spam. When we see replies which fall under "spam" rules or they are reported we deleted them. We also review accounts on an intermittent basis, should we see a history of abusive or excessive or Spam replies we do take action.
We allow for a small amount of thanks but those in the hundreds and thousands who did not download an item are breaking forum rules.
Please do not reply more than 1 time to an attachment thread or diary thread.
Please do not thank a member if you never had any intention of downloading the item and are doing this solely to increase your User Group.
Please do not spam Diary Areas, some individuals are being excessive about this as well and it is not acceptable when a member does this just to increase their User Group. Try to be genuine in your Diary Comments, "thank you for sharing" or "thanks" in every diary reply a person makes is can be indicator of abuse.
While we do encourage interaction, again we do prefer if you are thoughtful in nature.
An example of abusive replies would be as follows:
- An individual downloaded 30 items in the last 90 days but said thanks in over 300 attachment threads.
- An individual never says thanks and solely relies on Diary area and says "thanks for sharing" and or " thanks" etc without any real feedback on a constant basis.
If you like to chat or want to work on increasing your user group appropriately outside of adding new content then we encourage the use of our Free Chatting area as well as craft specific areas where you can talk about your crafts, experiences and offer and give advice. Please be sure when you do chat in any of these areas if you are posting a new topic that you make sure one doesn't already exist first. Old topics may be recycled but not deleted.
Members are reminded that sharing any personal contact information such as email addresses, social networking accounts or other sites is not permitted.
This has been stated in the Forum Rules and in other areas on numerous occasions. Individuals who fail to follow the rules will have their accounts suspended.
We do not permit personal information to be shared for your protection to prevent harassment and threats by individuals you do not know personally.
Do not ever use Private Messaging or Wall Spaces as a mechanism to share your email, share links to other sites or download links, or ask a member to email you an item ever.
