Title / Name:Frilly Frou Frou
Designer:Karen Ashton-Mills
Difficulty:Intermediate
Completion Time:about 20 hours

I actually finished this set before Christmas and was waiting to get a reborn that it would suit...and she came yesterday in the post, she will need painting and rooting but I just couldn't resist taking the photos now ! She is called Lacey and this was the first time I had used 'knit-in-lace'....it was really easy to use....the back frills on the romper are just soooooo cute.....I'm always a sucker for girly frilly pants! The toy used up all those oddments left at the end! She is posed on a blanket that I made from one of those' blanket in a ball' wools I received for my birthday last year.....I backed it with pink fleece material with a sewn in lace edging ...it took about 20 extra hours and looks suitably girly and 'frou frou' enough to go with this knitted set! I do think those self-pattering wools are brilliant ....all that sewing in ends chore abolished and its such fun to see the pattern emerging.

Gorgeous set Merriebabies! The blanket blends in wonderfully. Curiousity, how do you decide what name to give your newborns?

Comments

I'm always impressed with your reborns. You are definitely very good at your craft. Have you been doing it very long?  Post time 5 day(s) ago
- this one, a friend gave the knit-in-lace,wool and a dummy clip with the name 'Lacey'on for an Xmas present last year so didn't have to think at all - they know me and my likes!  Post time 5 day(s) ago
then other times I will reborn a doll with no ideas for them -but when finished I'll sort out a layette for them and google for some sort of link to the theme and a name that just feels right & 'goes'   Post time 5 day(s) ago
...sometimes the name just pops into my mind - usually with some wool or baby clothing item for inspiration even before the sculpt is chosen and then I look for a doll that will go well with the idea-  Post time 5 day(s) ago
