How to Post a New Thread with Attachments

Before posting a new Thread you must determine where an attachment  belongs and if it is deemed either a Pattern or a Magazine, Book or Pamphlet.
Members must search the forums prior to posting a new Thread. If the item already exists it may not be posted and will be deleted.
Repeated failure to follow all Posting Rules may result in termination of your account.

Please note that all Forums with attachments require Moderation prior to any new threads being published to the Forum.
Once you submit a thread it goes to our Pre-Moderation area where Staff Members review your thread to ensure that all of the information required is provided and is correct. If it is not correct our Staff will correct it issue. If a Member continually fails to properly fill out a new Thread a reminder will be sent and the Member may be issued a warning. Filling out a new thread saves valuable time and will help ensure that your new thread will be processed in a more timely manner. Threads which are not correct may be placed further back in line for Moderation than those which are correct. It can take up to

General Information about Attachements
Magazines, Books and Pamphlets vs. Patterns and Designs in all areas but Cross Stitch
Magazines and Books:
*Please note
that all Pamphlets should be uploaded to their correct Craft Forum and no longer uploaded to the Magazines and Book Forums. The information provided is still required and should be put in the body of the Thread.

A Magazine or book is defined as a something that has been printed on paper or is availble in paper form in and Digital format. Scanned items are almost always considered to be a Magazine or Book because it was originally in print form from a Publisher. Magazines or Books which are complete in nature should always be placed in the Magazine Section of  Forum. Individual Patterns from a Magazine or Book should be placed in the individual Crafting Forums only when the entire Magazine or book has not already been uploaded. ( *see note below)
Examples:
Book 100 Lace Flowers to Crochet. Books are printed books which have been either scanned by an individual or are available in both Digital and Print media.
Books, Magazines (and Pamphlets) have ISBN numbers assigned to them.
Magazine Crochet World, Creative Knitting -  Magazines tend to come out on Monthly, Bi-Monthly, Annually or any other specific period of time. Magazines can be in Digital format as well as printed on paper.

Patterns, Pamphlets or Designs:
A Pattern is a design created by an individual and is solely in PDF format and can not be obtained in a paper printed media format. A Pattern often contains a specific set of instructions for a specific item or several items contained in one PDF or Images representing each page. Patterns do not have ISBN numbers assigned to them. Pamphlets do have ISBN Numbers assigned to them, because they are small in nature and usually are about a specific single topic or versions of a topic we do place them in our regular Craft Forums
Pamphlet Annies Attic Baby Christening Set , Cute Critter Purses -  Pamphlets are booklets (a small book with few pages) that have been scanned into Images or converted images to PDF files.
*Please note that all Pamphlets should be uploaded to their correct Craft Forum and no longer uploaded to the Magazines and Book Forums.

*NOTE:Individual patterns from books, magazines or pamphlets are not permitted unless they are currently out of print items.
Posted March 11, 2015
There wil be special circumstances when an induvidual pattern is permitted:
If the original source is vintage and or no longer available as a ful edition
If a pattern is published in a non craft related book or magazine such as womens magazines, journals or newspapers
If the instructions are being sold individually outside of a publication. The attachment must be the individual item and not ripped from a publication.Magazines with ads removed
There may be other reasons where an individual resoure is permitted.

We also will no longer accept any books, magazines with missing page numbers or e-book conversions. These items are very difficult to moderate to ensure they are complete.
Certain pamhlets may be permitted on a case by case basis
.

An ebook conversion is a pdf created fron an original ebook formatted for a device such as a mobi file for a Kindle. Ebooks which were published as a pdf are permitted.
When a true ebook file is converted to a pdf the program used creates hundreds of tiny pages with large gaps without text. Also, they do not give page numbers because of the way the program formats them. Verifying that an ebook is complete is very time consuming and requires reading the entire book. At this time we do not have the resources to check these.

Pattern Examples:
Penguin Blanket , Whirlwind , Steampunk

Cross Stitch
All software specific related Attachments belong in the Re-Paint Section.
Individual Scanned designs belong in Scanned.
Pamphlets belong in Cross Stitch Scanned
Magazines and Books belong in the Magazine Section of Cross Stitch.

7. Upload Image/Cover Image

After the file has completely uploaded you will see another new pop-up that looks like this:

In this pop-up you can add a Description of the File, set Read Permissions, and if desired set an amount to charge Members.
By setting Read Permissions you can restrict what minimum User Group is required to download the Attachment.
The maximum amount allowed charged at this time is 40 Diamonds for an Attachment that is not Free total. "Free" Attachments should be no more than 15 Diamonds.

- Anonymous may be used by Garden Crafters and above to protect the idenity of the poster, however, please be advised that Moderators and Administrators will be able to determine who has posed a thread when using Anonymous. If you are concerned about posting your Thread we do suggest you set your Thread to Anonymous. You will still be able to have your Thread properly rated and members may also give you bonus points.
- Post Tags which are keywords used to describe the Thread. Members may use up to 5 Keywords. This is optional.

Tutorial Forums

Tutorial Forums are used when a Member desires to share instructions to a Craft without creating an attachment for it. Certain Forums like Crochet and Knitting may also house in Tutorials Charts for these crafts when they are an individual image and not a PDF. Tutorials are generally, but not always, written by the Member who is posting the Tutorial.
To create a Tutorial simply create a new Thread in the appropriate Forum.
All Tutorials, regardless of Forum, must be in English, easy to understand, complete and with an image of the finished product, additional images showing various stages of the project may be included.
Attachments should not be uploaded to these types of Forums. Images are permitted to be uploaded.

We encourage our Members to share their work but there are a few Rules Members must keep in mind:

1. Members may only post a total of 2 Diary threads per day. Members who post more than 2 total wil have their threads deleted. By restricting the amount permitted to post per day it reduces spam threads by member to increase user groups.

5. Images may not contain a watermark that includes a URL to any other Site or Forum other than ours . You may place a watermark on the image of your Forum Name only.
6. Threads must be in accordance to all Rules .
7. When replying to a Member who has comment on your work please use the Comment Feature and not the general Reply Feature. This keeps threads more orderly and Members can easily identify whom you are speaking to when using the Comment Feature.

8. Fill out the form and thread information correctly. Threads that do not have this filled out properly will be removed.

Please fill out the form shown below
Category - Select Work in Progress or Completed Work
Project Name - Please put the name of the pattern*
