I have one that I made several years ago and they are great, hold the heat longer than a hot water bottle, I used mine a lot in the winter  Post time 2014-11-29 20:40

We use 2 that were bought at a "pop up" 1 day market at my work building; now they don't allow vendors anymore because of security.  Anyhow, the 2 we have were to replace 2 we had because repeated microwaving scorched the fabric and made little holes, and rather than letting me sew new covers, hubby threw them out before I could fix them.  What we have now, 1 is getting scorched and needs replacing.  There must be a good "recipe" somewhere for the filling.

My local grocery store has a "bulk" section in the back, & yes they do sell buckwheat, flax & lavender out of self dispensing bins! If yours does not, check around a bit!  Post time 2015-08-09 12:42
yes, these have, I think, buckwheat (hulls?), dried lavender, and maybe flaxseeds. Ya think someone would sell that in bulk? :)  Post time 2014-12-03 20:10
Be sure to use a natural fabric such as 100% cotton, anything synthetic will burn. I used rice (not instant) in mine and have had them for several years with no problems  Post time 2014-12-03 20:04
